About this Course

Stage 2 is a talent development training opportunity for top skaters who aspire to compete for BC at Junior Canadian Championships or Canada Winter Games. Skater participation is based on commitment to improving competitive performance. The goal of the camp is to provide on and off ice instruction that will positively impact the athletes’ transition into provincial team status. In addition to ice time twice a day, training will include dryland, strength and conditioning, yoga and classroom sessions focused on the science behind good sleep hygiene, nutrition, body positivity and energy availability as well as how to best prepare for Canada Winter Games and the 2021/2022 speed skating season. All sessions are tailored to athlete abilities. Skaters must provide their own speed skating equipment.
